This it to Val, Sheila, the boys and all the wonderful people I met while in Wexford.
I miss waking up early,
Taking a shower
And listening to RTE
In wait of the boiler.
I miss the dog barking at me
Through the bay window,
Pretending not to see me,
Following my moves like a shadow...
I miss closing the front door
Behind you and hear you roar
"See you later alligator ! "
To our little neighbour...
I miss your Irish accent
And the richness
And scent of every moment
Spent in irishness.
I miss going to school
And teach things cool
And back to this unpronounceable area,
Most peaceful Ard Uisce.
I miss reading the "John's garage" sign
On our way back from grind
High above the horizon line.
Oh, and I also miss the beer and the wine !
And I miss the fireplace and its noise
And the dogs we would call "boys"
And the kindness of your mom :
To me, this really felt like home.
